Hello Holy Trinity families!
Summer has come to a close, and it’s time for another newsletter!
We had an amazing week with Vacation Bible School in July. This year’s theme for VBS was Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus! It was a great program, and the kids learned that Jesus rescues when we are lonely, when we are powerless, when we worry, when we struggle, and even when we do wrong!
As is always the case, the Holy Spirit moved in hearts throughout the week, and we were blessed with stories of how Jesus touched the hearts of participants and volunteers alike.
Of course, what would a week of VBS be without a few challenges?
We had to move our location at the 11th hour, because of the church building renovations, but thanks to our generous friends at Wings Like Eagles ranch, we were able to have our program and give the 35 kids who attended some amazing memories along the way!
We are so thankful for the 27 amazing volunteers who joined us for VBS and shared their hearts and poured the love of Jesus into our kids. We couldn’t have pulled off the week without these special individuals who gave of their time and energy. And thanks to Wings Like Eagles ranch, we even had 4-legged friends join in the fun.
FALL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER! And the first exciting news for the fall is that children’s TCT is starting again on September 9th!
In our upper elementary class we will be studying the Lord’s Prayer with Faith Inkubators’ catechism materials. Faith Inkubators take a multi- faceted approach (song, discussion, images, skits) to teaching, so our kids receive truth from multiple angles, keeping them engaged and connecting with kids who have a variety of learning styles.
In early elementary TCT, the kids will continue with David C. Cook’s Bible in Life program, which focuses on helping kids integrate spiritual truths into their day to day lives in concrete ways they can understand.
We look forward to what God will do for our kids through our TCT programs.
We are also very excited about the events we’re planning for our kids over the next couple of months.
First up, we’re going to end summer with a Splash! Join us on September 15th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm for our end-of-summer Church Squirt and Splash Party! Bring a towel and your squirt toys and come ready for some fun! Ages 4 and up are invited, and our youth group kids are welcome too! If the weather isn’t conducive to outdoor water play, we’ll have some fun activities ready for indoor time in the Church fellowship hall.
In early October, we are having a great night of movies and blanket forts in the Church Sanctuary. We’ll serve up some yummy treats after the blanket forts are built and enjoy the hilarious antics of Bob and Larry and the rest of the Veggie Tales gang. Our movie night will happen on October 6th from 5:00-7:00 pm! Kids and youth are invited.
Finally, we are planning a special, family-friendly Halloween fall festival at the Church on October 31st. Stay tuned for more information on this event, but encourage your kids to be thinking about what they might want to create for our big costume contest.
