Schedule for Sunday, August 27

If you have even the tiniest inkling that God might be calling you to participate in children's discipleship, please come on Sunday. At 10 am we will show you how we do Children's ministry. Even if you don't end up volunteering, your own faith will be enriched by seeing how we worship with our children.

Our regular calendar of weekly events, as described AT THIS LINK, will be in place through the rest of the week.

Softball Game @ the HTAC/IAC Picnic

As we have done the past two years, HTAC and IAC are organizing a friendly softball game at the joint picnic on September 3 at Bear Creek Regional Park.

If you are interested in playing, please reach out to Austin Backus or let the Church Office know.

We encourage everyone and anyone who would like to play softball that day to bring their glove. We would also appreciate you bringing any other equipment (bats, balls, etc.) you might have to help the game come together.

This is a very fun event with not even a hint of performance pressure. It's a great opportunity to play alongside your brothers and sisters from IAC and HTAC and to play away some of the great calories enjoyed at the picnic.

We need several small teams of individuals (or families) to help with setup and cleanup, food layout, greeting tables, and parking lot monitors. We also need to have everyone RSVP for the event, so we can plan the food and the service to cover all who attend.

Please fill out the RSVP form at THIS LINK, and sign up to help with one of the volunteer functions.

We're really excited to have the folks from Restoration Anglican joining us this year, and we anticipate another glorious gathering.

Food Trucks!

The food truck event returns to HTAC this Friday evening, August 11, from 5 to 8 PM.

We've had great turnouts, excellent dining, and awesome outreach opportunities during the past food truck events in the HTAC parking lot.

The trucks are back this Friday for the August event. Please come join us! It's a great way to support our neighborhood and to meet some of the folks who walk or drive by our church every day, wondering what those Anglicans are really like.

Labor Day Weekend Service/Picnic

We need volunteers for the IAC/HTAC joint service and picnic!

The big Labor Day Weekend service and picnic at Bear Creek Regional Park is just a few weeks away. We've been asked to corral as many as 25 volunteers to help with the following key functions:

-- Greeting

-- Setup

-- Cleanup

We currently have less than 10 volunteers. Please consider signing up to help out.

We especially need a few people to help direct traffic in the parking lots at Bear Creek, and we need a couple of folks to help staff the greeting tables, where the bulletins and picnic instructions are handed out.

The volunteer signup form is included in the picnic RSVP form. You can find it all at THIS LINK on our website.

Life Groups: Doing Life Together

One of the most profound and enduring truths about the human experience is provided right at the beginning of Scripture, at the beginning of all Creation: "Then the Lord God said, 'It is not good that the man should be alone. . .'"  (Gen 2:18 ESV)

We, like our Creator, are made for community. Just as our God is inherently relational -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- so also we, created in the image of God, are naturally and inherently relational beings, designed and intended to live in Community.

Alone, without community, we simply do not thrive.

Who constitutes your community? Who knows your victories and your struggles, your celebrations and your worries, your loves and your dismays? If we never put ourselves into a context where we can be known closely and authentically, sadly, the answer is "No one."

All of us -- every one, without exception -- needs a small group of co-journeyers (friends) in this life who support us and for whom we can offer love and support. Church life groups are a context where you can know and be known, where you can become a friend and can have friends.

If you are not currently part of a life group, talk to someone you know at HTAC who is in a life group, and listen to their testimony about what God has done in their life through small group relationships. Don't miss out!

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing stories about small group experiences, collecting names of individuals and families who are interested in trying out a Life Group, and recruiting leaders for the formation of new Life Groups at HTAC.

Pleae, fill out the online Life Group Sign-up form

If you have questions, reach out to Pastor Al Janssen or Deacon Mark Summers.

Come and see what God has for you in a Life Group at HTAC!

Volunteers Needed for Joint Service/Picnic

We need to recruit approximately 25 individuals to help with a variety of tasks at the September 3rd joint service and picnic with International Anglican Church. The event will be held at Bear Creek Regional Park, and the service will begin at 9:30 AM.

We've got less than a month to pull all of this together, and your help would be deeply appreciated.

Weekly Update: August 1-6, 2023

Schedule for Sunday, August 6

Sunday Morning Services: This Sunday, Eric Chesney will be preaching.

We will have services at our regular Sunday times - 8:30 AM and 10:45 AM. The nursery will be open and staffed for the second service.

Bread Bakers!

We need bakers for our weekly Communion bread.

Debbie Eastman has been steadfast in her weekly baking for many months, and she needs a break. She has an outstanding recipe that produces an ideal loaf for Sunday Communion.

We now need 3 or 4 bakers who can take on the shared task of producing the altar bread for our weekly services. If we can get several bakers involved, each will need to bake only once a month.

Please consider joining our team for this very important task. If you are interested, reach out to Deacon Mark or connect with Debbie Eastman.

Anselm Conference - STORYMOOT

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2023 – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2023

You have a story to tell. It’s the micro story of you within the macro story of God. Stories can get lost or forgotten in the rush and randomness of this secular age, but Storymoot can help you find yours. Because it’s also God’s story for you, it’s a story that needs to be told.

Featuring keynote speakers Amy Baik Lee and Matthew Clark, in-depth personal-focused breakouts, lots of time for conversation and processing, and the Anselm Society’s fabled hospitality, Storymoot is designed to be meaningful—and affordable—for YOU, both adults and teenagers.

We hope that Storymoot — with challenging speakers, stimulating interaction, heartfelt stories, hands-on workshops, and a soul-stirring closing concert — will also be a story worth telling. Registration is limited, so sign up today and your YouStory can include, “I was there at the first Storymoot!”

REPEATING THE CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

We have two special and important needs for volunteers to support the Holy Trinity community. Please prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to step up to fill one of these service needs.

FACILITIES TEAm

Dick Battersby is the current leader of our Facilities Team. Dick is looking for an individual who would be willing to be trained to take over this leadership role. Dick is not looking to leave in the near future, but we are realizing that he won't be here forever, and the knowledge transfer that needs to happen will take some time. This is an essential role for the Church, and prudence dictates that we start now to train someone to step into his role. If you are interested, please reach out to Dick or to Deacon Mark in the Church Office.

TECH TEAM

Our Tech Team leader, Marty Schulte, is recruiting for a few new team members to be trained to staff the two tech positions on Sunday mornings. These positions involve running the Zoom sessions and slides on Sunday morning, and handling the sound board for the services. We will provide lots of training for these roles. If you are interested, please reach out to Marty or to Deacon Mark in the Church Office.

FRIDAY, JUNE 9 @ 5 PM: THE FOOD TRUCKS RETURN

We will have another Food Truck Event on Friday evening, June 9, from 5 to 8 PM. The first event was such a great success that we agreed to have the food trucks visit us monthly through the summer. This event on the 9th will be another fantastic opportunity to get to know our neighbors and to introduce them to HTAC hospitality. The Church building will be open, and if this second event is anything like the first, we can expect a LOT of visitors and many good conversations about Holy Trinity and our church family. Please be a part of this wonderful outreach opportunity!

JUNE 25 @ 12:15 PM: HTAC NEWCOMERS LUNCH

Pastor Matt Burnett will host a Newcomers Lunch at Holy Trinity on Sunday, June 25 from 12:15 to 2 PM in the Fellowship Hall. If you are a visitor, new attender, or anyone who wants a chance to visit with Pastor Matt and other clergy, staff, and leaders to learn about Holy Trinity, our Newcomers Lunches are a great way to do it! If you would like to attend, please contact Deacon Mark in the Church Office.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We have two special opportunities for ongoing service to the Holy Trinity community.

Thursday Spotlight: 1 June 2023

Traylor Family Celebration

Help us say "Good-bye" on June 11 to Pastor Matt, Kati, Faith, Riley and Renee!

Between services on Sunday, June 11, we will have a very special gathering to honor and celebrate the Traylor family. We want to thank Pastor Matt and Kati for all they have done to bless the Holy Trinity family over the past two years and to send them with many hugs and prayers (and tears) on their next ministry adventure to serve at Christ Church in Midland, Texas.

Sunday, the 11th, will be Pastor Matt's final Sunday of service at Holy Trinity. You don't want to miss this opportunity to honor and love on the Traylor family before they head south.

Important Scheduling Notes!

Rescheduled! Membership Discovery Class

The Membership Discovery Class planned for this Sunday, June 4, has been rescheduled to a September date. We did not have enough interest for the class this weekend, so we decided to postpone. If you are interested in attending the class in the fall, please connect with Deacon Mark.

Newcomers Lunch - 25 June @ 12:15 PM

If you are a visitor, new attender, or anyone who wants a chance to visit with Pastor Matt and other clergy, staff, and leaders to learn about Holy Trinity, please join us for our next Newcomers Lunch on Sunday, June 25 at 12:15 PM (immediately following the second Sunday service). The Newcomers Lunch is relaxed and informal.  Over lunch, the conversation is Q&A-driven, and we talk and answer questions to give you an opportunity to learn more about who we are and what we do here at Holy Trinity. If you'd like to attend, please connect with Deacon Mark, so we can get you on the list for a lunch order.
